Payroll Allotment Posting Date Change
Please be advised that due to Federal Regulations and our effort to comply with such, D.C. Teachers Federal Credit Union will post membership payrolls on the day they are due. As a courtesy to our membership, we were posting member payrolls the day before the payroll due date. This practice will be discontinued.
This change will be effective on April 15, 2008.
The following transactions will have to be modified to coincide with your payroll due date if you are reliant on the proceeds of your payroll to cover those automatic payments.
- Bill payer: Bills should be scheduled to be paid on the date of the payroll posting if you are relying on the proceeds to cover the payment.
- Automatic Drafts (One time or recurring): These drafts should be scheduled to charge your account on the day your payroll is being posted.
Be assured that your loan payments with D.C. Teachers Federal Credit Union will be posted on your payroll due date. We anticipate that this change will have a minimal impact on the way you do business with the credit union.
We apologize for any inconvenience this change in processing your payroll may cause and we “Thank” you for your continued support of your Credit Union.
Annual Meeting 2008 Election Results
On March 27, members and guests gathered at the Brookland School Cafetorium to celebrate the Annual
Meeting of D.C. Teachers Federal Credit Union. Officers reported on the state
of the credit union as strong and moving forward with new technologies and a
strong delivery of services to members. Our savings products provide solid yields
and our loan portfolio continues to grow, especially in the area of home equities. These loans are providing our
members with home renovations, a way to consolidate their bills, sending their children to college and more. It’s been a
very good year!
Congratulations are in order for the following officers who were re-elected to the Board of Directors:
- Harold Fisher, Jr.
- Nadyne A. Gilbert
- James L. Ivey
- Sheila J. Reid
- Jerome Shelton
- C. Denise Witcher-Sessoms

We've Upgraded Our Online Security
It's now even safer to process transactions on our website!
That’s because we've upgraded our online security to incorporate Multi-Factor Authentication
methods. When you log in, there is a new set of steps to verify your
identity. This new process makes it more difficult for unauthorized access to your personal information
and you don’t have to install any software.
The major change is the addition of “challenge questions”, a personal identity code and use
of an electronic keypad to enter your pin. We recommend that you do not save the information on the PC
you regularly use to connect to us; this will prevent anyone that has access to your PC from logging on
to your account. It’s simple to set up, and more importantly, it better protects your information!

Protect Yourself From Phishing Scams
Phishing is a new type of identity theft that occurs online. Phishers send emails that appear
to come from reputable sources, such as financial institutions or credit card companies. They tell you
to click on an icon or link to be directed to the institution’s website.
The phony webpage or pop-up window directs you to type in personal information, such as
your account number, password or Social Security number. If you provide this information, it goes directly
to the crooks—not to the company with whom you transact business.
