Youth Share Savings Account

Kids can join, too! There is no minimum age requirement for membership in D.C. Teachers’ Federal Credit Union. If you’re a member, your children, grandchildren and stepchildren can be too, no matter what their ages.

Why Kids Need a Credit Union

It’s easy enough for a child to learn to spend money. A DCTFCU share account can help them learn to save and manage it wisely. Our youth members can make deposits and withdrawals, and earn dividends, the same as any other Regular Share Account holder.

Kids Join Free with Just a $5 Deposit

Ordinarily, an initial deposit of at least $50, plus a $5 membership fee is required to become a DCTFCU member. For those under 18, however, there’s no fee and the minimum deposit is a “kid-friendly” $5. Youth members have until age 18 to increase their balance to the minimum balance requirement of $50.
